INTEGRATIVE EMOTIONAL SUPPORT

Plant medicine for the inner landscape

Flower essences are gentle, vibrational remedies that work with your emotional and energetic body — supporting healing, integration, and the slow return to yourself.

THE BASICS

What are flower essences?

Flower essences are vibrational remedies — liquid preparations made from the energetic imprint of flowers in water. Unlike herbal extracts, they contain no physical plant material. Instead, they carry the subtle energetic pattern of the plant, prepared through a sun or boiling method that transfers the flower's essential quality into spring water.

They were first developed in the 1930s by Dr. Edward Bach, an English physician and bacteriologist who believed that emotional states are the root layer from which physical and psychological health either flourish or struggle. He identified 38 remedies — each corresponding to a specific emotional pattern — that are still in wide use today.

The Flower Essence Society (FES) expanded this work in California, developing over 100 additional essences for the particular emotional landscape of modern life: overstimulation, trauma, burnout, identity, and the complexity of highly sensitive and neurodivergent nervous systems.

Not herbal. Not homeopathic.

Flower essences contain no active chemical compounds — they work through energetic resonance, sometimes described as the "memory" of the flower held in water.

Safe alongside everything.

They are non-toxic, non-addictive, and have no known contraindications with medications, supplements, or other treatments. Children, pregnant people, and elders can all use them.

Targeted to emotional patterns.

Each essence addresses a specific emotional state — not a diagnosis. They work on the feeling layer: fear, grief, overwhelm, shame, disconnection, rigidity, and more.

Gentle and cumulative.

Most essences are taken 4 drops, 4 times daily. Effects are often subtle at first and deepen over 3–6 weeks of consistent use.

MY OWN JOURNEY

Where my practice with essences began

🌹   With A Knock Out Rose · my garden · Pensacola, FL

My introduction to flower essences didn't happen through a textbook. It happened in my garden, with my hands in the water, watching sunlight move through the petals of a Knock Out Rose.

"I had been studying the craft of essence-making, and something drew me to this particular rose — the one growing just outside my door. I followed the old method: flowers gathered in the early morning, floated in spring water, held in sunlight for several hours. Then preserved and bottled."

What surprised me was what I noticed in myself as I worked with the essence over the following weeks. Not a dramatic shift — flower essences rarely work that way. But something quieter: a quality of inner strength that didn't feel like armor. A sense of being rooted enough that speaking up for myself felt less dangerous.

I began having conversations I had been avoiding. Not from a place of force or adrenaline, but from a steadiness I hadn't quite known before — a felt sense of "I can say this, and whatever happens, I will be okay." The fear of rejection and abandonment that had so often kept me quiet lost some of its grip.

This is, I have come to understand, one of the gifts of the rose family in essence form: the marriage of strength and softness, self-assertion without aggression, the courage to be seen without needing armor to do it.

Since then I have deepened my study of both the Bach tradition and the FES Quintessentials, and I have been making essences from my own garden as part of my ongoing personal and spiritual practice. What began as curiosity has become a living thread in how I understand healing — my own and others'.

The Process

How we work together

Flower essence support can stand alone as its own offering, or weave into our therapeutic work together as an additional layer of between-session support.

01

We explore what's alive

Through conversation or a written intake, we map your current emotional landscape — what's present, what's recurring, what you're moving toward.

02

I select your essences

Drawing on the Bach, FES, and Australian Bush Flower traditions, I select 4–7 essences matched to your specific patterns and blend them into a personal formula.

03

You work with them daily

Four drops, four times daily — in water, under the tongue, or on pulse points. Most people work with a blend for 4–6 weeks, then we reassess and evolve.
